![]() As this is the language of my main interest I quite early started to study it, meanwhile I was watching anime and reading manga. In the beginning of course it was only translated such. However as the interest grew and I got into karate as well books In my possession exceeded to the value of 300$ and now I am starting to be able to read manga for real. At the moment I have been studying Japanese seriously for about 3 years. I know the kana, which is essential and if you're fast it shouldn't take more than 2 weeks to learn it well enough to read and write. And I know about 700 Kanji at the moment depending on if I have to know them actively or only passively. However, I still have a poor knowledge about the jukugo that they posses. The speaking skill is also a thing that is a lot harder to train without hearing a lot of the language. To be able to learn that well you should really be around Japanese talking people, something that I miss. To some degree I think though I can make it up through listening to anime or other Japanese shows that I can watch through my video. I'm guessing that most of you already know the basics of the Japanese language but just in case your not so familiar with it I'm leaving a link for that too... AweGahn 11/3 2000
